Brisbane Bike Adventure

We thought it would be a good idea to rent bikes and explore Brisbane for a few hours. The bikes are built in reverse from the US; the back handle bar break is on the left hand side. There is a really nice set-up for walkers/bikers/joggers in Brisbane with a pretty scenic trail along the water. Despite some flooding the trail was well maintained.

We stopped many many times to climb trees and touch lizards, but eventually my front tire got tired of our short attention spans and decided to pop. After about half an hour walk we found a bus stop and waited an hour for the bus. Of course, the bus wouldn't let us take bikes on. Half the group decided to bike back to the YHA, they discovered a Vitaminwater prize van... We got a tour of the city.

The taxi driver says we rode about 16km before my tire popped. On the way back I did see the FOX Sports bar and headquarters!

Here are some photos of our adventure:

Traffic circle! Where Vitaminwater was later. The trees here are so cool.

Straight out of a movie?

Cute little house on the water. Picture taken from floating bike path.

We are on a floating dock bike path.

Sad shawn :(

Flat tire :(

Bowling club next to bus stop... No bowling was happening.

Taxi! It ended up being $30.40 to get back to our YHA.
